If you are looking for a piano teacher then look no further. My name is Janet Bevan and I am 45 years old. I am married with two children and one grandson. I qualified as an Associate of the London College of Music at the age of 15, and although I have always loved playing the piano, I have only been teaching in a formal capacity for a few months. I have taught various friends and family to play over the years (including entering them for exams), but now I have the opportunity to do this full time and I am enjoying it immensely.
I am based in Bryncoch in Neath, and teach at my home. Lessons are usually one hour, and include half hour of piano and half hour of theory. As I teach one to one or at the most two to one, I can set the pace to suit your ability. I always aim to make the lessons as enjoyable as possible, as that is the best way to learn, especially when the pupil is only 6 years old (as my youngest pupils are). Lessons cost £12.00 per hour or £10.00 if two or more siblings want to come. Lessons are held between 1:30 - 6:30 Monday – Friday.
My only requirement from you is that you are enthusiastic and not afraid of a bit of practising, as that is the only way to get to grips with the instrument and make good progress. There is no upper age limit so there is no excuse for all you adults, but I think 6 is about the limit for children starting. You do need a bit of discipline and from 6 or 7 years old, you can start to organise yourself, so that works fine.
